Congratulations on starting your Invisalign treatment!

Wearing

You must wear your aligners 20 hours a day. If for any reason you miss time more than 4 hours wear them for an extra full day to ensure that all of the movements have been achieved and getting the best results!

Changing

Always wear your aligners for the full time never miss any days! Change to the next one every 7-10 days and do it right before going to sleep. Place all worn finished aligners back in its bag and close. Please keep all aligners! Do NOT throw them away! If you’re on your last aligner and you lose it go back to the one before. Never go a day without wearing an aligner!

Fit

Your aligner should fit like a glove over your teeth. If you notice that they are not fully seated go back to the last aligner for 1 to 2 days and use the chewies, they will help with getting a better fit. If you feel they don't fit well use the Invisalign app to send us a message or take a selfie and email us. We want to make sure your teeth are tracking properly.

Eating & Drinking

It's best not to eat while wearing aligners. You can drink water with your aligners in your mouth. Remove them if you drink something that is not "clear", has sugar or is acidic. Failure to do so will result in staining of your teeth and cavities!

Storage

Always place your aligners in the case when you are not wearing them. NEVER wrap them in a napkin, they will get thrown away. Keep them away from pets!!

Cleaning

Make sure to keep your aligners clean and brush them with your toothbrush & toothpaste every day. NEVER use hot water!

Broken or Lost Aligners

If you lose or break an aligner you can switch to the next aligner but wear it for the days remaining from the lost one in addition to the days of the new one.

Lost Attachments or Hooks

The attachments help your teeth move in the desired direction. If any of your attachment come off please take a selfie pointing to the tooth with the lost attachment and email us. Also, let us know which aligner you’re wearing. The doctor will evaluate your treatment plan and let you know if it’s necessary to come in sooner than your scheduled appointment.

Lost Hooks

If any of the hooks for the elastics come off that you were using to wear your elastics, wear each aligner for 2-3 weeks until you can come to see us to have it replaced.
